TIGHE
MO CRIDHE (Ty mo cree)
cottage is located ½ ml from Dornie village on the southern shore of Loch Long. In Gaelic, the name means “home
of my heart” and the cottage was originally an old croft house dating from around 1840. It has been carefully renovated
and extended to be able to accommodate 6 persons in comfort. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard
throughout and attracts lots of repeat visits by guests.
DORNIE
is a picturesque village and makes an ideal base for exploring the north west highlands.
It is situated next to Eilean Donan castle, once the stronghold of the MacRaes, at a place where lochs Duich, Long and Alsh
meet.The village
has a local convenience store, a small Post Office and there are 2 local Hotels and a Pub in the village, all of which serve
food.
Nearby in Kyle of Lochalsh there is a supermarket, bank, chemist, doctor, railway station, swimming pool and fitness
centre. The nearest petrol stations are in Inverinate and Kyle of Lochalsh .
The area is steeped in
history and very popular with visitors and the local scenery is possibly the most beautiful in Scotland…but I
may be biased. The Kintail hills, Glenelg, Skye and Torridon all lie within easy reach and provide the opportunity to make
your holiday as energetic or relaxing as you like
